f Measurement of outer diameter of spool 123 - take

measurements at points A to E in both the X and Y

directions. Deduct the average of these readings from

those in (g) below.

g Measurement of internal diameter of spool hole in rear

flange 101 - use a 1 mm full scale dial gauge F and a

cylinder gauge G of measuring range 18 - 35 mm. Set

up the dial gauge by inserting the cylinder gauge into a

20 mm standard ring gauge. Zero the dial scale.

Measure the diameter at points H to N. From the

average of these readings, deduct the average of the

readings taken in (f). For tolerances see Wear Limits

Table, item 1 (m).

h Measurement of lateral ball joint wear between piston P

and shoe R. See Wear Limits Table, item 1 (n).
