Servicing
To ensure safe, efcient operation of the appliance, it is necessary to carry out routine servicing at regular
intervals.
The frequency of servicing will depend on the particular installation conditions and the frequency of use.
Chimney Sweeping
We recommend that chimneys should be swept at least twice a year during the burning season. More frequent
sweeping may be necessary where res are burned throughout the year or where low grade woods or bituminous
coal are used as fuels. The chimney can be swept through the re. The re is provided with removable tertiary
air tubes and V board bafes to facilitate chimney sweeping and for the removal of soot from the unit.
Besides chimney sweeping any internal ueways should also be cleaned.
Ensure that any soot that has fallen on to the top of the V board bafes is removed.
Ensure that any soot that has accumulated around the tertiary air tube holes is removed.
Remove and clean the tertiary air tubes and the V board bafes. Replace and ensure correct operation and
adjustment.
Seal Checks
A check on the seal between the re and the ue should be carried out.
A check on the seal of the door should be carried out.
Smoke Draw Test
Finally carry out a smoke draw test as described in Commissioning Section or to the HETAS recommended
requirements.
Before any maintenance work or sweeping is carried out always remove the door and store safely.
Door Removal and Retting
Unlock the door with the handle provided.
Remove the door as detailed in section on appliance preparation page 13.
Log Retainer Removal
The log retainer can be removed from the front of the re box by sliding upwards between the slots at each side
of the inner rebox at the front.
Ret the retainer by the reverse process. Ensure the retainer is tted the correct way around as shown in the
diagram on page 30.
