3.1.2.2. Fastening the Capsule
Fasten the capsule with external tooth lock washers to the mounting bracket on the external deck.
Then, apply a waterproof treatment of RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) sealing material to
secure its grounding to the ship’s hull.

The procedures for fastening the Capsule are:
i. Remove the painting around the three holes in the mounting brackets of the Protective Capsule
(NDH-316/317).
ii. Place an external tooth lock washer on each of the three holes in the mounting brackets.
iii. Apply RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) sealants around the mounting holes.
iv. Place the Protective Capsule (NDH-316/317) on the mounting brackets. Adjust the capsule’s
position so that its three holes coincide with those of the mounting brackets.
v. Put steel bolts in the holes.
vi. Fasten the bolts with nuts.
