TheDirectModefunctionoftheXR-3isaccessiblethrough
theuseoftheelectronicthrottleorsteeringtrimlevers,as
wellasthetwoelectronicgriplevers(A&B)locatedonthe
upperportionofthegriphandle.Thisfunctionallowsfor
quicktrimadjustmentofthesecontrols,withouttheneedto
accessthesefunctionsthroughthefourkeypadcontrolkeys.
ToaccesstheDirectTrimModefunction,turnonthetrans-
mitterpowerswitch.Next,movethedesiredtrimlevertobe
adjusted.Theappropriatescreenfortheselectedtrimlever
will bedisplayed.Toadjust,simplymovethetrimleverin
thedesireddirectionuntilthecorrectamountoftrimis
achieved.Oncethedesiredtrim isachieved,thescreenwill
returntotheNormaldisplayscreenafterapproximatelyfive
secondsfromthelasttriminput.IftheMODEor CHANNEL
keysarepressedanytimeduringthefiveseconds,thesys-
temwill returntothepreviousscreeninuse.
