Aperture Priority Setting
You can add a blurring effect to the background
by setting the aperture value (F-number).
After performing “To Change to Manual
Recording Mode” (Z pg. 24)

2 Select the desired setting. (F1.8 to
F8.0)
The lower the F-number (larger aperture
value), the more blurred the background
will become. The higher the F-number
(smaller aperture value), the clearer the
focus will be for both near and far objects.

8 To cancel the aperture priority setting
Press the A button so that the value
indicator disappears.
NOTE
If the image is too bright, set to a larger
F-number. If the image is too dark, set to a
smaller F-number.
Changing the Shutter Speed
A fast shutter speed can freeze the motion
of a fast-moving subject, and a slow shutter
speed can blur the subject to give the
impression of motion.
After performing “To Change to Manual
Recording Mode” (Z pg. 24)

2 Select the desired setting (1/2 to
1/4000 in ! mode, 1/2 to 1/500 in #
mode).
The smaller the value, the faster the
shutter speed.

Press the S button so that the value
indicator disappears.
NOTE
It is recommended to use the tripod (Z pg. 18)
when recording with a slow shutter speed.
