It is built to conform to IEC61010-1 CAT.III 600V overvoltage safety standards and pollution level 2, ensuring safe operation in various environments.

Function Description

This multimeter is capable of performing a wide range of electrical tests, making it suitable for professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike. Its core functions include:

  • AC/DC Voltage Measurement: The device can accurately measure both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) voltages. In SMART mode, it automatically detects and selects the appropriate range for voltage measurements. In manual mode, users can specifically select DC or AC voltage settings.
  • Resistance Measurement: It measures electrical resistance, with the SMART mode automatically selecting the best resolution. A continuity test is integrated into resistance measurement, where the meter beeps and lights up if the resistance is less than 50Ω, indicating a continuous circuit.
  • Continuity Test: This function checks for the presence of a complete electrical path between two points. If the resistance is below 50Ω, the buzzer sounds, and an indicator light illuminates, displaying the measured resistance value.

  • Function Buttons: The device features dedicated buttons for navigation and control:
    • Power Button: A long press (about 2 seconds) turns the meter on or off.
    • Function Navigation Buttons (Left/Right Arrows): These allow users to select different functions in manual mode. A long press (about 2 seconds) on either of these buttons returns the meter to SMART mode.
    • Data Hold Button (H): Toggles data holding on or off, allowing users to freeze the current reading on the display.
    • Backlight Button (ST600X only): A long press (about 2 seconds) turns the backlight on or off, improving visibility in low-light conditions.
    • Selection Button (SEL): Used to select specific functions within a measurement category (e.g., AC voltage vs. DC voltage, NCV vs. Live).
    • Flashlight Button: A long press (about 2 seconds) turns the built-in flashlight on or off, providing illumination for the work area.
  • Auto Power Off: To conserve battery life, the meter automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes of inactivity. A "beep" sound will be heard 1 minute before shutdown. This feature can be canceled by pressing and holding both the "SEL" and Power buttons simultaneously upon startup.
  • Jack Indication Lights: When switching to different functions, indicator lights above the corresponding input jacks flash, guiding users to insert the test leads correctly.

  • Fuse Replacement: If the fuse is blown, a "FUSE" symbol will be displayed, and current testing will not work. To replace the fuse (F10A/250V), users must turn off the meter, remove probes, unscrew the back cover, replace the burnt-out fuse with a new one of the specified rating, ensure it's securely clamped, and then reattach the back cover.
    • Fuse Safety: Only fuses with the specified amperage, interrupt voltage, and speed ratings should be used. The meter should not be operated with the back cover open.
  • Probe Maintenance: Users are advised not to use damaged test leads and to check for damaged insulation, exposed metal, or wear indicators. If the probe is damaged, it must be replaced with one of the same model and electrical specification to meet safety standards.
