Replacing the
separator roller
sleeve assembly
The separator roller sleeve assembly consists of a separator roller
sleeve, a brake assembly, spacers and retaining o-rings. Even though
the separator roller lasts up to 600,000 scans, it will eventually wear
out, which may result in document slippage and/or multifeeding.
To order a replacement separator roller sleeve assembly, see the
section entitled, “Supplies and consumables”.
1. Shut down the host PC.
2. Power off the scanner.
3. Open the scanner transport cover.
4. Remove the skimmer assembly.
5. Raise the auto/manual feed lever to the ‘M’ position.
6. Open the separator access door. As the door is opened, the
separator roller assembly will come loose from the separator roller
cradle.
7. Remove the separator roller assembly.
8. Remove the spacers and retaining o-rings from the separator roller
assembly.
9. Slide the separator roller sleeve away from the brake assembly.
