Chapter 8 Maintenance
8.1 Periodic inspection and cleaning
To prolong the equipment life, the following maintenance should be performed on a
routine basis. Also, from time to time, check plug connections and cables.
8.1.1 Monthly check
If the display screen is dirty, clean the screen with a soft cloth damped with anti-static
agent or pure water. Do not use a dry cloth as it causes static build up, which
accumulates dust.
8.1.2 Semiyearly check
Inspect the surface of the transducer for any marine growth. If so, remove the growth
using an appropriate tool taking care not to scratch the surface. Harsh scratching of
the transducer surface may cause the transducer performance to be severely
degraded.
