Governor pull-through safety test
1) Run car up using hoistway access and gain
access to pit.
2) Turn off pit stop switch.
3) Turn off and lock out mainline disconnect.
4) Disconnect governor rope from safety gear lever.
5) Fasten clamp with force gauge.
6) EcoSystem MR®
• OL35 governor: Open flyweight by hand so it
contacts trip wheel.
• OL100 governor: Hit tripping lever downward
so jaw sets.
MRL
• Move XM12 connector on LCECPU to 3-4
position.
• One person pushes OSG TEST button, while
second person pulls governor rope. Governor
will engage.
• First person releases OSG TEST button.
Note: Person holding governor rope must not
release tension, otherwise governor will reset
7) Connect a come-along to force gauge.
8) Use come-along to pull down on force gauge (1)
in tripping direction until governor rope starts to
move.
