3.3 Engine Cover/Operator Seat Pan
WARNING!
Always clean the entire engine area and deck area of any excess grease, oil, fuel,
or debris to prevent damage to the equipment, fire hazard, and projectile hazards!
In order to fully access the mower deck, many of the drive components or controls, or the
engine area, you will need to open the operator seat pan or the engine cover:
Operator seat pan: Lift up the spring-loaded tabs at the rear of the pan to clear the stop
guards on the frame. Pull up and forward until the travel is stopped by the pan. This is
slightly beyond the vertical position.
Engine cover (hood): Release the two fasteners located at the top front of the engine
cover. Lift the cover back all the way until the hinge bars stop the travel, holding the cover
in the open position.
Clean the entire engine area (under the engine cover) and mower deck area (under the
operator seat pan) of all excess grease, oil, fuel, grass, or debris before operating the
Lastec Mower. This will help prevent damage to the equipment, fire hazard, and projectile
hazards.
Be sure both the operator seat pan and engine cover are closed, latched, and secure.
3.4 Fuel Shut-Off Valve
The fuel shut-off valve is located behind the opera-
tor seat and to the right. This valve allows you to
select which fuel tank you will be using at the time of
operation. Be sure the fuel shut-off valve is in the
ON position (pointing in the direction of either the
left or right fuel tank) prior to attempting to start the
engine.
