3.18 Mower Deck Height Calibration
WARNING!
NEVER make any adjustments to the deck height while the engine is running!
ALWAYS be sure to set the parking brake before making any adjustments to your
Lastec Mower!
When you receive your Lastec mower, you may need to calibrate the mower deck height.
Follow these procedures to calibrate:
1. Park your Lastec Mower on a flat, level surface. Be sure to turn off the engine and set the
parking brake before making any adjustments to your Lastec Mower.
2. Be sure both rear drive tires are properly inflated to 18 PSI, and two front tires to 15 PSI.
3. Be sure all wheels are pointing forward in the direction of travel.
4. Set all five of the deck height adjustment rods to 3”.
5. Starting with the center deck, measure the front of the deck from the bottom of the pan to
the floor across the front and rear of the deck, at points near the hinge pins. A 3” block
may be used. The measurements should be level, within +/-1/8”. Actual cutting height
should be measured from the blades (ensure the blades are not bent from damage before
taking measurements!).
If adjustments are needed on the center deck,
use the jam nut on the center adjustment rod on
the deck lift assembly. Tolerances for
front-to-back is positive 1/8 inch in the rear -- the
rear should never be lower than the front edge.
Be sure to retighten the jam nut on the adjust-
ment rod after leveling the deck.
