Attention:DonotdetachyourcomputerfromtheThinkPadUltraBaseSeries3whilethedockingstation
indicatorisblinkingoron.Waituntilthedockingstationindicatorturnsoff.Detachingwhiletheindicatoris
blinkingoroncausesthesystemtobeep,andthecomputermighthalt.
YoucanhotdetachorwarmdetachthecomputerfromtheThinkPadUltraBaseSeries3.Hotdetachmentis
detachingthecomputerfromtheThinkPadUltraBaseSeries3whilethecomputerisinoperatingmode;
warmdetachmentisdetachingthecomputerfromtheThinkPadUltraBaseSeries3whilethecomputer
isinsleepmode.
Beforeperformingahotorwarmdetachmentoperation,ensurethat:
•ThedevicesconnectedtoUSB,serial,andparallelconnectorsarenotinuse.
•TheconnectiontotheEthernetporthasended.
•Thebatteryisfullycharged.
Performingahotdetachmentoperation
Toperformahotdetachmentoperation,dothefollowing:
1.ClickStart,andthenpresstherightarrowkeyandselectUnlock.
2.Whenthedockingstationindicatorisoff,detachthecomputerfollowingtheinstructionsin“Detaching
thecomputer”onpage99.
Note:Detachingwhilethecomputerisoperatingwithoutperformingtheprocedureabovemaycausethe
systemtomalfunctionorhang.

Toperformawarmdetachmentoperation,dothefollowing:
•PresstheejectrequestbuttonoftheThinkPadUltraBaseSeries3.Thesystemwillthenresumewith
