Step 6. Remove the PCIe riser-card if it has been installed (see “Remove the PCIe riser-card assembly” on
page 86).
Step 7. Remove the LOM adapter if it has been installed (see “Remove the LOM adapter” on page 71).
Step 8. Remove all the other adapters installed on the system board (see “Remove an adapter” on page
90).
Step 9. Disconnect the USB 3.0 cable of operator panel tray assembly and remove it vertically from the
system board.

Step 10. Remove all the PHMs installed on the system board (see “Install a processor and heat sink” on
page 104).
Step 11. Remove the drive backplanes and cables connected to the system board (see “Remove a drive
backplane” on page 54).
Step 12. If there is an installed TCM module, unlatch it from the latch on the system board, and gently
remove it by slowing pulling it out from the connector.
Step 13. Grasp the system board handle and thumbnail, and slide the system board toward the front of the
server.
