Exposure to Radio Frequency Signal
Your wireless handheld port a ble telephone is a low - p o w e r
radio transmitter and re c e iv e r. When it is ON,it re c e i ves and
also sends out radio fre q u e n c y (RF) signals.
In Au g u s t ,1 9 9 6 , the Fe d e r al Commu n i c ations Commissions
(FCC) adopted RF ex p o s u re guidelines with safety levels fo r
handheld wireless phones. Those guidelines are consistent
with the safety standards prev i o u s l y set by both U. S . and
i n t e rn ational standards bodies:

Those standards we re based on compre h e n s ive and peri o d i c
eva l u ations of the re l e vant scientific literat u re. For ex a m p l e ,

rev i ewed the ava i l able body of re s e a rch to develop the A N S I
S t a n d a rd (C95.1).
