Consumer Information on SAR
(Specific Absorption Rate)
This Model Phone Meets the Gove rn m e n t ’s
R e q u i rements for Exposure to Radio Wave s .
Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter and re c e i ve r. It
is designed and manu fa c t u r ed not to exceed the emission
limits for ex p o s u re to radio fre q u e n c y (RF) energy set by
the Fe d e r al Commu n i c ations Commission (FCC) of the
U. S . Gove rnment. These limits are part of
c o m p re h e n s ive guidelines and establish permitted leve l s
of RF energy for the ge n e r al population. The guidelines
a re based on standards that we r e developed by
i n d ependent scientific orga n i z ations through periodic and
t h o r ough eva l u ation of scientific studies. The standard s
i n clude a substantial safety margin designed to assure the
s a f ety of all pers o n s ,rega r dless of age and health.
The ex p o s u r e standard for wireless mobile phones
e m p l o ys a unit of measurement known as the Specifi c
A b s o r ption Rat e ,or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC
is 1.6W/kg. * Tests for SAR are conducted using
s t a n d a r d operating positions specified by the FCC with
the phone transmitting at its highest cert i fied power leve l
in all tested fre q u e n c y bands. Although SAR is
d e t e r mined at the highest cert i f ied power leve l ,the actual
SAR level of the phone while operating can be we l l
b e l ow the maximum va l u e. Because the phone is
designed to operate at multiple power levels to use only
the power re q u i red to re a c h the netwo rk , in ge n e ra l ,t h e
closer you are to a wireless base station antenna,t h e
l ower the power output.
