Input mode
T9 Text Input provides five modes for entering tex t ,
n u m b e rs , special ch a ra c t e rs , and punctuat i o n .
T9Word (T9) Mode
Type text using one key s t ro ke per letter. The phone
t ra n s l a tes key s t ro kes into common wo r ds by using
the letters on each key and a compressed dat ab a s e.
ABC (Multi-tap) Mode
Use ABC mode to add wo r ds to the T9 dat ab a s e.
123 (Numbers) Mode
Type nu m b e r s using one key s t ro k e per nu m b e r.
To ch a n g e to 123 mode in a text entry fi e l d , p re s s
Soft Key 2 until 123 mode is displaye d.
Symbol Mode
I n s e r t special ch a ra c t e rs or punctuat i o n .
You may use any of the 35 special ch a ra c t e r s. Wh e n
the cursor is located wh e r e you want the special
ch a ra c t e r , s w i t c h to Symbol mode. Press the
N av i gation Key to cy c le through and select the
ch a ra c t e rs .
Smileys Mode (SMS and e-mail only)
When the cursor is located wh e r e you want to add a
s m i l ey,sw i t c h to the smileys mode. Press the
N av i gation Key to cy c le through and select a
s m i l ey.
