The tooth height results from the following table:
Pitch t Tooth height h
0.5 0.23
0.6 0.25
0.8 0.37
1.0 0.47
1.2 0.5
1.5 0.64
1.6 0.75
2.0 0.95
4. Adjusting the traverse paths:
a) During the knurling process (see also Chapter 6.3) the dwell time is very short
otherwise “overlaps” may soon occur.
b) During the burnishing process the dwell time is greater to ensure that the press-
finished surface is formed better.
7.3 Thread rolling on pipes
The rolling of threads on seamless drawn pipes is dependent on the available pipe
wall thickness. In general, rolling tests are necessary for the respective work applica-
tion when the ratio between the pipe bore and the thread core diameter d
3
is ≤ 0.65.
During the rolling process on pipes the number of workpiece rotations achieved should
be less than n
w
= 25.
NOTICE
In special cases, deviations are possible from the defined adjustment
values.
