Connecting the PC
Local Modem Connection
For a local modem connection, you must use a modem (either
connected to, or built into, the PC) to access the internal modem in the
control unit. Connect the modem to an 012 or 016 module in the control
unit, as shown in Figure 3.
The internal modem operates at speeds of 1200 and 2400 bps.

Remote Modem Connection
For a remote modem connection, you must use a modem (either
connected to, or built into, the PC) to access the internal modem in the
control unit. You must also use a dial-up connection, as shown in Figure
4. See “Accessing SPM” for details on accessing SPM with a remote
modem connection.
The internal modem operates at speeds of 1200 and 2400 bps.
