use the piston ring wrench to engage the piston
rings in the relevant piston ring groove (TOP facing
upwards).
Checking piston ring axial clearance

Determine the piston ring clearance in each piston
ring groove at various points using a feeler gauge.
To do so, press the piston ring fully into the piston
ring groove at the point to be measured.
If the clearance determined is too great, replace
the pistons and piston rings.
