REPLACE Battery
Handling and servicing a battery can be dangerous, take the following precautions:
- Wear protective goggles.
- Keep the battery horizontal.
- Never smoke or work near a naked flame.
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- In the event of electrolyte being spilled onto the skin or splashed in the eyes, rinse thoroughly with cold water for 15
minutes and call a doctor.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
- Open the engine cover (
DESCRIPTION: INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS).
- Identify the faulty battery A or B
- Unscrew the nut 1 to release the battery retaining strap 2.
- Disconnect the battery terminals 3.
- Remove the faulty battery A or B.
- Place a new battery of the same type as the one used for the lift truck, observing the (+) and (-) polarity.
- Refit the retaining strap 2.
BREAKDOWN REPAIR USING A BACK-UP BATTERY
- Open the engine cover (
DESCRIPTION: INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS).
- Bring a back-up battery of the same type as the one used for the lift truck, together with battery cables.
- Connect the back-up battery with the battery cables, observing the (-) and (+) polarity.
- Start the lift truck and remove the cables as soon as the engine is running.
