3 Replacing appliance parts to rectify problems

Safe working when replacing appliance parts
For your safety
Before starting work, familiarize yourself with the hazards described in Hazards and safety precautions
when replacing appliance parts on page 14.
Eligibility of personnel for removal/fitting
Only qualified personnel from an approved customer service office are permitted to remove and fit combi
steamer components.
Rules for setting up the appliance safely
To prevent hazards that arise from the installation site and area around the appliances, the rules for
setting up the appliance safely must always be observed; see ‘Requirements for the installation site‘ in
the chapter ‘Setting up the appliance’ in the Installation manual.
Electrical power components
Risk of electric shock from live parts and loose cables
When the cover is open, there is a risk of electric shock from touching live parts.
Z Make sure that any work on the electrical system is performed solely by a qualified electrician from an
authorized customer service office.
Z Before removing the covers:
Switch off all connections to the power supply.
Take protective measures at every power switch to ensure that the power cannot be switched on
again.
Wait 15 minutes to allow the DC bus capacitors to discharge.
Make sure that the appliance is de-energized.
Z Make sure that the electrical connections are intact and connected securely before you reconnect the
appliance to the power supply.
Z Before putting the appliance back into operation, make sure that the appliance, including all metallic
accessories, is connected to an equipotential bonding system.
Escaping gas
Risk of explosion from escaping gas
Escaping gas can ignite and cause an explosion.
Z Make certain that the gas supply is disconnected before starting work on the gas installation.
Z Make sure that any work on the gas installation is performed solely by an approved gas fitter.
If you smell gas, you must follow the instructions below without fail:
Z Cut off the gas supply immediately.
Z Ventilate the room thoroughly.
Z Avoid creating a spark (e.g. by operating a switch, using a phone or touching electrical switching
elements).
Z Notify the gas supply company or even the fire brigade using a phone located outside the hazardous
area.
Z Evacuate the building.
