3.11 Powering the Unit
The SDM-9120/9220/9230 units are AC powered.
NOTE: Information about the power supply is provided on “Power Supply” on
page 4-10.
3.11.1 SDM-9120/9220/9230 UAC Power Cords
A removable power cord is supplied with the unit, either:
• 115VAC North American type, or
• 240VAC European Schuko type (see Figure 3-14).
To connect a UAC unit to its power source:
1. Ensure that all interface cards are fully inserted into their slots and securely screwed
into place.
2. Connect the factory supplied power cord to the AC inlet, located at the rear of the
SDM-9120/9220/9230 chassis.
3. Plug the other end of the power cord into an AC power outlet (100-240 VAC, 50/60
Hz) with a protective earthing connection in good condition.
4. For the SDM-9220/9230 units, turn the power switch
ON by pushing it to 1. The unit
will begin power-up and system check immediately.
For the SDM-9120 unit, you just need to provide power to the unit for it to begin to
power up and system check.
