VERTICAL THROUGH-THE-ROOF VENTING USING FOUR 90
0
ELBOWS
In extreme situations, Four 90
0
elbows may be required to reach a proper exit point for the vent system. Mendota has
spent considerable time and effort in the design of this fireplace and its venting system. Through this effort, Mendota has
been able to certify the use of Four 90
0
elbows.
The use of Four 90
0
elbows must meet some minimum prerequisites.
Prerequisite #1: The vent system must terminate vertically using a vertical vent cap.
Prerequisite #2: There must be a minimum 12 inches of vertical starter section connected directly to the top of this fire-
place.
Prerequisite #3: For vertical starter sections less than 4 feet tall, you must reduce 6 feet off the maximum horizontal run
allowed per Figure 15 on page 21, Zone A.
