Locating the Center Point of the Shift Cable
IMPORTANT: Locate the center point of the slack or lost motion
that exists in the shift cable for proper adjustment of the shift cable.
1. Mark the forward position as follows:
a. Move the remote control handle from neutral into forward
and advance the handle to the full speed position. Ensure
that the throttle control lever is touching the throttle control
lever stop screw.
b. Slowly return the handle back to the neutral detent position.
c. Place a mark on the shift cable against the cable end guide.

2. Mark the reverse position as follows:
a. Move the remote control handle into reverse and advance
the handle to the full speed position. Ensure that the throttle
control lever is touching the throttle control lever stop
screw.
b. Slowly return the handle back to the neutral detent position.
c. Place a mark on the shift cable against the cable end guide.
