DRIVING YOUR EV
e. Driving in night
Ensure all lights are working and
windows are clean.
Drive more cautiously at night
due to reduced visibility.
Maintain a speed where you can
stop within the distance
illuminated by your headlights.
Avoid using high beams unless
necessary to prevent dazzling
oncoming drivers.
Use indicators and headlights
properly for turning and lane
changes.
CAUTION
When driving on long, steep
gradients, it is important to lessen
the strain on the brakes by
releasing the accelerator pedal.
This action utilizes regenerative
braking to its advantage and
prevents the service brakes from
overheating, which could
otherwise reduce their
eectiveness.
f. Driving on gradients
When going downhill, ease o the
accelerator to reduce speed. Avoid
shifting to neutral or turning o the
vehicle. EVs (Electric Vehicle)
typically achieve their best range
between speeds of 40 to 60 km/h,
making them ideal for city driving.
Staying within this speed range,
along with following other driving
tips, can significantly increase your
mileage. On highways, it's
recommended to maintain a speed
between 60 to 80 km/h to optimize
range. Higher speeds can lead to a
noticeable decrease in range.
Do not slide the vehicle with the
power turned o.
In such case, many systems (e.g.
brake booster) cannot work. Driving
in this way will pose a danger to
yourself and others.
