Runs for a few minutes and then stops
Dryer not heating (motor runs)
Perform the following checks in given order to identify the issue. If fault found in any step, repair it:
1. Select a program other than Air fluff and the Temp selection is not on “No heat”
2. On a gas dryer, check that the gas supply is on.
3. Clean the lint filter and exhaust duct.
4. Check if the dryer moved into the cool-down process of the cycle.
5. If the heater doesn’t heat, check follow these steps.
Check hi-limit thermostat on heater. Does it
show continuity?
Replace heater assembly.
No
Check thermistor. Does it show continuity?
Replace thermistor.
No
Is there lint build up around drive
motor?
Is low or high voltage present?
Check if blower wheel blocked in blower
housing.
Clean lint from filter and
exhaust line.
Yes

Correct power supply.
Yes
press the red button on the thermostat to
restart the dryer.
No
Check if drive motor start switch contacts
stuck closed.
Check if manual thermostat tripped.
No

Repair/replace blower wheel.
Replace drive motor.
Yes

Check regulating thermostat. Does it show
continuity?
Yes
Replace regulating thermostat.
Yes
Check heating element. Does it get heated?
Replace PCB.

Replace heater assembly.
