4.4 Vacuum Drying
4.4.1 Purpose
Vacuum drying should be performed in order to remove moisture and non-condensable gases from the system. Removing
moisturepreventsiceformationandoxidizationofcopperpipingorotherinternalcomponents.Thepresenceoficeparticlesin
thesystemwouldcauseabnormaloperation,whilstparticlesofoxidizedcoppercancausecompressordamage.Thepresence
ofnon-condensablegasesinthesystemwouldleadtopressureuctuationsandpoorheatexchangeperfor-mance.
4.4.2 Procedure
Do not let air, dust, or other impurities fall in the pipe system during installation.
Theconnectingpipeshouldnotbeinstalleduntiltheindoorandoutdoorunitshavebeenxedalready.
Keep the connecting pipe dry, and do not let moisture in during installation.
When connecting copper pipe, please wrap it with thermal insulation material.
