MLB-G3002 Terminal User Guide 19 Rev 1.1
4 OPERATING MODES
4.1 Power on the Modem
The modem is usually fully operational within 4 seconds, after powering it up. Depending on
the signal strength of the network in the area, logging into a network may take longer and is
outside the control of the modem.
4.2 Power off the Modem
There are 2 ways to switch off (power down) the modem as described below:
a) The AT^SMSO” command lets the MLB-G3002 terminal log off from the network and allows
the software to enter into a secure state and safe data before disconnecting the power supply.
The mode is referred to Power-down mode. In this mode only the RTC stays active.
Make sure that the terminal has completely shut down before disconnecting the power supply.
The URC “^SHUTDOWNindicates that data have been stored non-volatile and the terminal
turns off in less than 1 second.
b) Direct hardware power off. Data will not be retained in this case.
