INTRODUCTION
This Mot oMaster Naut ilus Batt ery Charger feat ures advanced technology t hat makes batt ery charging
faster, easier, and safer while helping t o maximize the performance and life of your batteries.
This batt ery charger is designed for use on all types of 12- volt lead-acid batteries including Wet
(flooded), Maint enance-free (MF), Calcium (Ca), Enhanced Flooded (EFB), Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM),
and Gel. It is suitable for charging batteries rated from 10 to 30 0 Amp-hours and maintaining
batteries from 10 to 5 00 Amp-hours.
This manual will explain how t o use t he charger safely and effectively. Please read and follow t hese
instruct ions and precautions carefully.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Read all inst ruct ions, warning, and cautions printed on t he batt ery charger, batt ery and vehicle or
equipment using bat tery.
DO NOT expose charger to rain or snow.
Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by t he batt ery charger manufact urer may result in a
risk of fire, elect ric shock, or injury t o persons.
To reduce risk of damage t o elect ric plug and cord, pull by plug rather t han cord when disconnecting
charger.
An ext ension cord should not be used unless absolutely necesssary.
Use of an improper ext ension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extention cord
must be used, make sure:
The pins on plug of ext ension cord are the same number, size, and shape as t hose of plug on charger.
The extension cord is properly wired and in good elect rical condit ion.
The wire size is large enough for the AC ampere rat ing of t he charger, as specified in t he chart on
the following page.
DO NOT operat e charger with damaged cord or plug—replace the cord or plug immediat ely.
DO NOT operat e charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any
way—t ake it t o a qualified serviceman.
DO NOT disassemble the charger. Take it to a qualified service professional if service or repair is
required. Incorrect assembly may result in fire or electric shock.
To reduce risk of elect ric shock, unplug charger from outlet before at tempt ing any maintenance or
cleaning. Turning off controls will not reduce this risk.
WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE
GASES DURING NORMAL BATTERY OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE
THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EACH TIME YOU USE THE CHARGER.
To reduce risk of batt ery explosion, follow t hese inst ructions and t hose published by bat tery
manufact urer and manufact urer of any equipment you intend to use in the vicinit y of t he batt ery.
Review caut ionary markings on these product s and on engine.
Consider having someone close by t o come to your aid when you work near a lead-acid batt ery.
Have plent y of fresh wat er and soap nearby in case batt ery acid contact s skin, clot hing, or eyes.
Wear complete eye protection and clothing protect ion. Avoid touching eyes while working near
batt ery.
If bat t ery acid contact s skin or clothing, wash immediat ely wit h soap and wat er. If acid ent ers eye,
immediat ely flood eye with running cold wat er for at least 10 minut es and get medical att ent ion
immmediately.
NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in vicinity of batt ery or engine.
Remove personal metal it ems such as rings, bracelet s, necklaces, and watches when working with a
lead-acid batt ery. A lead-acid batt ery can produce a short-circuit current high enough t o weld a ring
or the like to met al, causing a severe burn.
Use charger for charging a LEAD-ACID batt ery only. It is not intended t o supply power to a low volt age
electrical syst em other t han in a start er-mot or application. Do not use batt ery charger for charging
dry-cell bat t eries t hat are commonly used wit h home appliances. These bat t eries may burst and cause
injury to persons and damage to property.
NEVER charge a frozen batt ery.
