Hardware Installation
The Mobile Companion application is used to guide the installation technician at the installation site. The
installation process is different depending on which power solution has been selected.
Mobile Companion Application Navigation During Installation
Use the following navigation features as needed while performing the installation:
To start the installation process, tap a camera with Ready to be installed. in the Cameras list.
To resume a paused installation, tap a camera with Installation Paused. in the Cameras list. Then, tap
the Continue installing camera action or Continue installation now... text.
To advance to the next installation screen, tap the Next or Continue buttons.
To return to the previous installation screen, tap the Back Arrow icon.
To pause the installation process and exit to the Cameras screen, tap the the Exit icon.
To open a list of installation screens, tap the Menu icon. Tap a screen to go to that part of the
process.
To perform camera aiming without viewing the installation screens, tap Skip to Aiming when prompted.
When choosing this option, go to Camera Aiming.

Scouting the Mounting Location
Upon arriving at the installation site, gather the necessary information about the site characteristics for later
entry into the Mobile Companion application.The side of the road the camera is on, the number of lanes being
monitored, and the distance to traffic are required to properly configure the camera and onboard radar. The
mounting location must also meet the required traffic speed, flow, and distance from intersections.
Prerequisites: Obtain:
Measuring Tool (50–100 feet)
Marking Chalk
Ladder (8–14 feet reach)
Mobile Phone
Procedure:
1. Identify the mounting location.
2. Check to ensure that the mounting location meets the following criteria:
At least 90 feet from the start or end of a road.
Not a corner, intersection, parking lot.
Constant traffic flow of at least 10 mph.
