Removing and Installing the Earpiece
Recommended tools: tweezers.
To remove the Earpiece from the unit
(See Figure 22 on page 6-30, item No. 9)
1. Remove the Rotary Switch from the unit. Refer to “Removing and Installing
the Rotary Switch” on page 6-24.
2. Using the tweezers grasp the earpiece and with an upward motion remove
the earpiece.
To install the Earpiece
1. Be sure to place the earpiece correctly (evenly) into the rubber boot with the
spring contacts pointing in the upward direction. Use tweezers for this
operation.
2. Gently push the earpiece into the boot until it is firmly inside the boot.
3. Install the Rotary Switch.
Removing and Installing the UC Escutcheon (applicable to MTP850
S and MTP850 FuG only)
Recommended tools: Tweezers or narrow blade knife.
To remove the UC Escutcheon from the unit
1. Carefully insert the tweezers or knife inside the escutcheon.
2. Using the tweezers or knife, gently pry the UC Escutcheon away from the
front housing. Careful handling is required to avoid causing cosmetic defects
to the surrounding components.
3. Remove any remains of the adhesive.
To install the UC Escutcheon
1. Align the UC Escutcheon appropriately to the front housing by using the UC
Escutcheon slot as a guide.
2. Press the UC Escutcheon into the Front Housing until it fits in place.
