1. Support the front counterweight with a 4X4 or a suit-
able jack stand. See Figure 4.1.
NOTE: The purpose of the counter weight is to provide
stability to the tiller during operation.
NOTE: The counter weight tips the scale at 35lbs + / -
2lbs.
2. Remove the two nuts, bolts, and washers that hold
the front counterweight to the gear case assembly
using a pair of 3/4" wrenches. See Figure 4.2.
3. Carefully remove the counterweight from the chain-
case.
4. Remove the belt by following the procedures
described in Chapter 2: Belts.
