Tine Shaft
1. There is a washer between the sprocket and the
upper half of the chain case housing. It may be on
the tine shaft, or it may have come off with the upper
housing. Confirm its location and remove it.
See Figure 5.30.
2. There is a washer between the top gear on the main
shaft and the upper half of the chain case housing. It
may be on the main shaft, or it may have come off
with the upper housing. Confirm its location and
remove it.
3. Remove the top gear from the main shaft.
See Figure 5.31.
NOTE: The recessed side of the gear fits over the sprocket.
The gear registers against notches in the sprocket
teeth.
4. Lift the tine shaft assembly, chain and sprocket out of
the housing together. See Figure 5.32.
