7. Measure the gap between the ring and the ring land
using a feeler gauge and compare the measure
-
ment to the chart at the end of this chapter.

8. Measure the piston pin bore on both sides of the
piston using telescoping gauges or vernier caliper.
See Figure 10.13.
NOTE: Measurements should be taken at right
angles to check the roundness of the holes.
9. Measure the piston pin at the center and the ends
using a micrometer or a vernier caliper.
