If there's a water alarm with the MTU Engine, here's what it means:
When the maximum water level is reached, the water level electrode opens the water drain valve and water is discharged. If the opening period of the valve exceeds a preset limit (4 minutes), the pump will switch off and an alarm is initiated. To address this:
1. Press the illuminated pushbutton 'Water alarm' to acknowledge the alarm.
2. You can also drain water manually by pressing the illuminated pushbutton 'Water drain,' which opens the water drain valve.

What does pump fault mean for MTU Engine?
D
Debra GuerreroSep 13, 2025
If there's a pump fault in the MTU Engine, it means that the drive motor is equipped with overload protection. If the maximum permissible current consumption is exceeded, for example, in case of a blockage or dry-running, the motor protection relay triggers and the pump is switched off. Reset the motor protection relay.

What to do if MTU Engine displays replace filter element?
J
Jean GonzalezSep 17, 2025
If the MTU Engine displays replace filter element, it means that the maximum permissible differential pressure exceeded 1.5 bar. If the coalescer filter element is not replaced, pressure will increase further and the safety valve will open, leading fuel via the bypass directly into the overflow tank. To resolve this:
1. Replace the coalescer filter element.
2. Press the illuminated pushbutton 'Water alarm' for acknowledgment.
