This procedure must be done by 2 or more people.
If you set the roll media free while rewinding, the
roll media may fall out from Media feed slot and
fall toward the back of the printer.
Confirm that the right edge of the roll media does
not go beyond the loading mark.If it does, it may
affect print quality.

11. Rewind the roll media a little by rolling Flange on
Roll media holder while holding the edge of the
media, and eliminate any slack or slant.
12. Make sure that the edges of the media is
appropriately pressed by Pressurizing rollers.
When the media is set as shown in the following
figure “Not adequate”, follow the procedure to
adjust the position of the roll media.
If the media is set as shown in the following figure
“Not adequate”, the media may be misaligned or
creased during printing.
a. Loosen Fixing levers of the right and left Roll
media holders (), and move the roll media to left
or right ().
b. After moving the roll media (), fix it with Fixing
levers of the right and left Roll media holders ().
13. Lower front or rear Media loading lever.
14. Close Front cover.
“User: TypeXX” (XX is a number between 1 and
15) is displayed on the operation panel.

15. Press the [+] key or [-] key to select the user type
setting.
16. Press the [Enter] key on the operation panel.
The user type setting is set.
“Media initial” is displayed on the operation panel
and media initialization starts.
After media initial operation is complete, “Ready to
Print” is displayed on the operation panel and the
display shifts to Normal.
17. Wind back the roll media with the Roll media holder
to remove a media bend.
Media set is complete.

When tightening Fixing lever, press Roll media
holder toward the printer. If you do not press Roll
media holder, Fixing lever may not be completely
locked because of the weight of the roll media.
