6.7. Checking the wear of the brake pads
The brake pads have grooves that provide an indication of the
wear condition. Periodically check the width of the grooves,
making sure it never falls below the wear limit (1 mm).
WARNING: If the brake pads are excessively
worn out, the effectiveness of the braking sys-
tem decreases, increasing the risk of accidents.
If the pads have worn to near the wear limit, have
both pads replaced by an authorized service
centre. Ensure that the new pads are suitably
broken in (see § 4.2).
