6.10. Checking and replacing the tyres
WARNING
Before using the motorcycle,
always check the pressure and
wear of the tyres.
Checking the inflating pressure of the
tyres is an essential requirement to ensu-
re driving safety. Insufficiently inflated
tyres can reduce the handling of the
motorcycle and wear themselves out
very quickly. On the other hand, an
excessively high inflating pressure redu-
ces the wideness of the surface in con-
tact with the ground, and it can compro-
mise the grip of the vehicle.
Before riding your motorcycle, it is the-
refore necessary to measure the tyre
pressure at room temperature. The vehi-
cle must be parked since three hours at
least.
WARNING
An incorrect inflating pressure can lead to dange-
rous situations during riding. An insufficiently
inflated tyre can cause the sliding of the tyre on
the wheel rim or its detachment; this may lead to
the deflation of the tyre with subsequent loss of
control of the vehicle.
