What to do if the Napoleon Gas Heater pilot sparks but will not light?
    • P
      Paul HuertaJul 30, 2025
If the pilot sparks but doesn't light, verify that the incoming gas line ball valve is open and that the inlet pressure reading is within acceptable limits (not exceeding 14” w.C. (34.9mb)). Also, check if you are out of propane gas and fill the tank if necessary.

Why is carbon depositing on surfaces of my Napoleon Gas Heater?
    • P
      pattonpamelaAug 4, 2025
If carbon is depositing on surfaces, ensure the air shutter opening is free of lint or obstructions. Clean the sensor rod with a fine emery cloth or synthetic scrub pad to remove contamination and verify continuity with a multimeter. Inspect all wires for tight connections and correct installation. Also, inspect the wiring harness for tight connections and correct wire order. Check all seals and ensure exhaust isn't re-entering through an open door or window.

What to do if the flame is impinging on the glass, logs, rocks, media, or combustion chamber of my Napoleon Gas Heater?
    • F
      fernandomurphyAug 8, 2025
If the flame is impinging on components, check that the glass, logs, rocks, or media are correctly positioned. Too much glass media around the burner can cause carbon deposits. Open the air shutter to increase primary air. Check the input rate by verifying the manifold pressure and orifice size against the rating plate values. Ensure the door gasketing is intact and the seal is tight. Verify both vent liners are free of holes and well-sealed at all joints, and that the minimum rise per foot has been adhered to for any horizontal venting.

Why won't the pilot light on my Napoleon Indoor Fireplace?
    • H
      Harry BrockAug 16, 2025
Several issues could prevent the pilot from lighting. Here are some things to check: * Ensure the sensor and igniter wires are connected to the correct terminals on the module. * Check for loose connections, electrical shorts, or grounding to metal objects. * Inspect the module by testing for a spark and checking the pilot assembly for shorts or cracks. * Verify the igniter spark gap is 1/8” (3.2mm). * Confirm the transformer is installed, plugged in, and providing 6.2-7.0 volts A.C. * If the power is off, check the batteries. * Reinstall the wiring harness and check wire continuity. * Troubleshoot with a simple ON/OFF switch. * Ensure the valve and pilot assemblies are grounded to the metal chassis.
