The enabled Keylock is indicated by the blue dot next to the key value.
4. While holding SHIFT, turn the LOOP encoder clockwise to shift up the key value. Turn the
LOOP encoder counterclockwise to shift down the key value.
The pitch changes accordingly but the tempo remains unchanged.
7.9. Playing with Cue Points
When mixing tracks a common technique is to mix in the next track from a particular position in
that track instead from its start, for example, at a certain beat. Mixing in tracks from a particular
position in that track is called “cueing”. The S4 enables you to set points for cueing and for directly
jumping to these particular positions: Cue Points. You can store Cue Points as Hotcues using the
Pads on the Deck. This allows you to gain instant access to your Cue Points.
Enabling Hotcues Mode
In order to work with Cue Points you need to ensure you are in HOTCUES mode:
• Press the HOTCUES button to enable HOTCUES mode for the selected Deck.
