Variable Magnification Double Port Attachment
You can attach an eyepiece tube onto the front port of the
variable magnification double port attachment and a 2/3
inch TV camera onto the rear port of the variable
magnification double port attachment.
You can select the port condition between the
simultaneous usage of both ports and the front port usage
only.
When the simultaneous usage of both ports is selected,
100% of visible lights goes through the front port and
100% of infrared rays goes through the rear port.
The magnification for the rear port can be selected from
among x0.35, x2, and x4.
With the rear port, the water immersion type objective of
x16 and the numerical aperture 0.80 enables various
observations from a low magnification with wide view field
to a high magnification with high resolution without
changing objectives.
Take note of that vignettings may occur when the
magnification for the rear port is x0.35. This is not a
malfunction.
The front port can be used for the following observations:
• Bright-field microscopy
• Microscopy under the diagonal illumination
• DIC microscopy (combined with the FN-IR/ISA DIC IR
analyzer or the D-FL U-EPI FL epi-fl attachment)
• Fluorescent microscopy (combined with the J-FL epi-fl
attachment)
The rear port can be used for the following observations:
• Infrared bright-field microscopy
• Infrared microscopy under the diagonal illumination
• Infrared DIC microscopy (for DIC observations under
infrared rays)
CAUTION:
When the J-FL epi-fl attachment and the variable
magnification double port attachment are used
together, the indications for the filter cassette
type and the turret number on the J-FL epi-fl
attachment are hidden.
