Setting the phone tones for
different environments
You can set all phone tones to function in the desired manner by
one setting. This makes it easy to adjust the tones for different
environments (e.g. outdoor activities or meetings).
Note: This function is not available when the phone is
connected to the PPH-1 handsfree car kit or HDC-5
headset.
1. With the display clear, press the power key ( ) quickly.
2. Press or to reach one of the following options:
Switch off!: Turns off the phone.
Personal: Default setting which uses the
tone settings in the Tones menu (see page
63).
Silent: Turns off all the phone tones. The
indicator is shown when the display is clear.
Discreet: A short beep is heard when you receive a call or a text
message.
Loud: The call alert tone is Ringing and the volume of all phone
tones is at the highest level.
3. Press (OK) to confirm the desired option.
Tip: Setting the tones using the power and number keys
First press quickly and then one of the following number
keys within 2 seconds (when the display is clear): for
Personal, for Silent, for Discreet, for Loud.
