Access codes
You can use the different access codes to avoid unauthorised use of
your phone and SIM card.
The access codes (except PUK and PUK2) can be changed within the
‘Change access codes’ function (see page 55).
Security code (5 digits)
The security code can be used to avoid unauthorised use of your
phone (see ‘Phone security’ on page 54). Keep the code secret and
in a safe place, separate from the phone.
PIN code (4 to 8 digits)
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code protects your SIM
card against unauthorised use. The PIN code is usually supplied with
the SIM card. See also ‘PIN code request’ on page 53.
If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in succession, the SIM
card is blocked. Key in the PUK code and press (OK). Key in a
new PIN code and press (OK). Key in the new code again and
press (OK).
PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits)
The PIN2 code, supplied with some SIM cards, is required to access
some functions, such as charging unit counters. These functions are
only available if supported by your SIM card.
If you enter an incorrect PIN2 code three times in succession, follow the
same instructions as for the PIN code but this time using the PUK2 code.
PUK code (8 digits)
The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is required to change a
blocked PIN code. The PUK code may be supplied with the SIM card.
If not, contact your local service provider for the code. If you lose
the code, contact your service provider.
