Radiator Pressure Cap - Check
The cooling system is designed to use a pressure cap (1) to
prevent the coolant from boiling. An incorrect or
malfunctioning cap can result in the loss of coolant and the
engine running hot.
Inspect for Reuse
• Ensure the correct radiator cap is being used.
• Inspect the rubber seal of the pressure cap for
damage.
• Inspect the radiator fill neck for cracks or other
damage.
• Pressure test the radiator cap. The pressure cap MUST seal within 2 psi (14 kPa) of the value
stated on the cap, or it MUST be replaced.
