“Troubleshooting”

Swivel malfunction
Check for su󰀩cient supply pressure. Inspect the swivel assembly for proper
grease supply. Inspect material swivel for wear and debris.
Inlet/outlet valve not
opening
Inspect valve for needle/ball binding. Inspect integrated valve piston for binding.
Inspect piston O-ring for wear or damage. Ensure there is su󰀩cient air pressure.
Ensure solenoid valve is functioning properly.
Not cycling
Inspect the connection air lines connected to each integrated valve. Ensure
the power and controller connections are properly fastened. Ensure there is
su󰀩cient power supply to the material supply. Ensure the material supply is
supplying the proper material supply pressure. Reference the material supply
equipment literature provided with this manual.
Blocked material path Ensure material is passing through all hoses.
Supply equipment not
cycling
Ensure there is su󰀩cient air pressure. Reference the supply equipment
literature.
Smart Gun
leakage
Loose tting or gauge Isolate leak and tighten tting.
Valve seal failure
Replace seal(s). Replace or repair scored or damaged needle, if necessary.
Replace or repair scored or damaged sealing face to the robot, if necessary.
Smart Gun material
manifold failure
Ensure all ttings are properly tightened. Ensure there is su󰀩cient grease in
the swivel assembly. Replace seal(s) in the swivel assembly, between the
swivel assembly and smart gun assembly, if necessary.
Swivel material
transfer failure
Replace all seals in the material swivel. Replace all seals between the smart gun
assembly and the swivel assembly. Ensure there is su󰀩cient grease in the swivel
assembly.
Smart Gun stiction
Smart Gun remaining
idle and under
pressure for long
periods causing
material pack out
around internal lip
seals
Do not leave smart gun idle with material pressure for long periods and ensure
pressure is purged often.
Place smart gun over a bucket and actuate it rapidly for 20 to 30 cycles to clear
stiction issues.
Be sure air pressure is set properly and there is no blockage in smart gun air
hoses or solenoid valves.
Replace smart gun valve cartridges if unable to resolve stiction issues.
