Appendix F  Wire Requirements
Each type of circuit within the fire alarm control system has a specific type of wire that must be used to ensure
proper operation. In addition, the wire gauge of a particular circuit depends on the length of that circuit. Use
the table below to determine the specific wiring requirements for each circuit.
Note: If the communications loop is to be run in conduit with Notification Appliance Circuits, the risk of
encountering problems can be greatly reduced by exclusively employing electronic sounders (such as the
MA/SS-24I) instead of more electronically noisy notification appliances (such as electromechanical bells or
horns).
