Chapter 3 27
Introduction to WinPulse
Event Timed events that can be selected from a list by clicking on the
down arrow next to the Event field. Scroll down through the list
until the desired event is located and then click on it. Figure 3.4
shows an example of each event that can be selected. The selected
events will be initiated at the specified times.
Auto-Zero Sets the zero offset on the selected channel.
Attenuation Attenuates the output on the selected channel by the
specified value (values of 2
X
can be selected where x = 0
to 8). Note, by changing the attenuation, the signal to noise
ratio may change. (See Appendix D for a more detailed
discussion.)
Range Sets the electrometer to the selected range (1, 10, or 100,
which correspond to 0.1, 1.0 and 10.0 nA/V, respectively).
Square Root Enables or disables calculation of the square root of the
output signal in the selected channel. This supersedes the
Enable Sqrt selection set specified in the Gate Param-
eters screen. Enabling this option allows the operator to
linearize quadratic response signals associated with some
modes (e.g. sulfur mode, S).
Gate Specifies which gate mode, listed in the Gate Parameters
List, is linked to the selected Channel mode (see below).
Record Records the raw chemiluminescence data between the
specified start and stop times (in minutes) into a data file.
Ignitor Sets the electric current delivered to the ignitor of the
PFPD.
Channel Specifies the Channel that the Event occurs on.
Value Sets the value that applies to the selected Event. The unit of
measure for the value varies by Event. For a recording event, the
value is the stop time.
The function of each button along the right side of the Timed Events screen is as
follows:
OK Transmits the Event List to the Detector Controller and exits the
Timed Events screen.
Cancel Disables all changes made to the timed events parameters and exits
the screen without downloading the changes to the Detector
Controller.
Help Activates the Help screen.
Add Appends a timed event to the Event List.
