Conducting a measurement 53
A In this example each Power Electrode has to be placed in a distance of 30 m to the left and
right of the Power Box. This corresponds to the cable marker “5”. So you will unroll your cable
until the marker “5” is reached and then you put the electrode into the ground.
B In this example each Voltage Electrode has to be placed in a distance of 3 m to the left and
right of the Controller. This corresponds to the cable marker “3”. So you will put the electrode at
cable marker “3” into the ground.
L, W If you stay in front of your first scan point during a complete measurement you will see
scan point markers straight ahead as well as to the left. To find the current scan point in this
example just walk “L = 1” scan point markers straight ahead and then W = 1” scan point
markers to the left. Now you will stay at the current scan point.
D In this example we are going to measure data in a depth of 30 m when pressing the button
“Continue”.
For all coming steps you will simply follow the instructions on your Tablet PC. After each measuring
process the application will show you how to replace the electrodes in the field before measuring the
next scan point.
The following instruction scenarios might occur during your measurement:
You have to move the Power Electrodes (red socket)
outwards to the next cable marker. This will increase the
depth of the current scan point.
You have to move the Power Electrodes (red socket)
inwards to the previous cable marker. This will decrease
the depth of the current scan point.
You have to move the Voltage Electrodes (black socket)
outwards to another cable marker (several cable
markers might be skipped). This will be necessary if the
measured voltage is too low.
You have to move the Voltage Electrodes (black socket)
inwards to another cable marker (several cable markers
might be skipped). This will be necessary if the
measured voltage is too high.
