Installing System Software
Remove the product from the storage folder
To remove a product
1 Start the Fiery Installer Builder (see page 37).
2 At the window listing the products, select a product from the list and click Remove.
3 At the confirmation window, click OK.
Prepare the USB flash drive
To prepare the USB flash drive
1 Attach the USB flash drive to the computer.
2 Start the Fiery Installer Builder (see page 37).
3 At the window listing the products, select a product from the list.
4 From the Prepare action pull-down menu, select Prepare USB flash drive.
5 Click Next.
6 At the Select flash drive window, click the USB flash drive you attached to the computer, and click Next.
If more than one USB device are displayed, make sure to select the correct USB flash drive that you will use for
installing the system software.
If the USB flash drive is not formatted properly for the component storage, a warning message “This USB flash drive
will be formatted and all the data is this USB flash drive will be lost.” appears. Click Next to format the device and
proceed.
Note: It will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes for formatting the USB flash drive and loading the files on to the
drive. Do not interrupt the operation.
7 Once the preparation is done, safely disconnect the USB flash drive from the computer.
You can use the USB flash drive as a source for system software installation.
Install using a prepared USB flash drive
To install system software using a prepared USB flash drive
1 Remove all USB devices that may be connected to the Fiery ES.
2 If possible, print the Configuration pages (see page 41).
The Configuration pages contain a list of any installed options and a record of the customer’s current Setup
configuration.
Important: All data on the USB flash drive is lost when you format the USB flash drive. Make sure that no valuable
data resides on the device.
