CASY TT Operator‘s Guide
Preparing for Measurement
. Preparing for Measurement
The CASY System is factory-calibrated for common cell culture media. Performing a measurement
thus just requires the following steps:
Replenishing the Storage container with clean CASY ton.
Emptying the waste container.
Fitting (see Chapter 2.2) and selecting (see Chapter 5.5) the required measuring capillary where
necessary. Further information can be found on www.cellcounting.de.
Positioning the protection shield for each measurement:
The protection shield is enclosed in the accessory box and its use guarantees that the recorded
measuring signals cannot be changed by external interference. The protection shield is connected
to the right or the left ground socket in the roof of the sampling chamber by the corresponding
cable. Before a measurement is started, insert the protection shield into the sampling chamber
up to the limit stop, so that the sample is shielded on all sides.
Selecting an appropriate setup (see Chapter 5.3) or manually inputting the parameters (see
Chapter 5.4)
Monitoring the background:
You must monitor the background of your CASY System at regular intervals. We recommend
doing this after switching on and before switching o the instrument. Problems resulting from
choosing an unsuitable location and also those relating to impurities in the system manifest
themselves in too high a background.
Background monitoring
1
Place a CASY cup containing ltered CASY ton below the measuring capillary.
2
Press and hold the CLEAN key down until the clean counter indicates 3. Releasing the key triggers
three clean cycles.
3
Place a new CASY cup containing ltered CASY ton below the measuring capillary.
4
Position the protection shield.
5
Press the START key to initiate a measurement.
To guarantee that the CASY cup is xed, you can rotate the sample platform one turn so that the
recess is no longer pointing forwards. This secures the cup.
